Running Boosts Your Immune System

running-boost-immune-system Many studies have supported that running can help reduce chances of infection! Running helps boost the immune system by circulating protective cells throughout your body quicker; this helps eliminate bacteria, viruses, and fungi. Running increases your body’s temperature, which may actually inhibit the growth of bacteria. Some scientists believe that running can help rid the lungs of airborne bacteria and viruses that are known to cause Upper Respiratory Tract Infections (URTI). Other scientists believe that running causes carcinogens to flush out of the body through increased sweat and urine loss. However, even with these findings, you don’t want to over-train because other studies reveal that this can reverse the beneficial progress and actually suppress regular immune function! So always make sure that you listen to your body and only push it as far as it can go.
